Oklahoma Congressman Tom Cole
says it's too cold to ban hoodies
by Nathan'ette Burdine: January 11, 2015

During an early Monday morning appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Rep. Tom Cole (R-OK) said that it is too cold to have a hoodie ban in Oklahoma.

“-it sounds ridiculous to me. I mean it’s certainly nothing wrong with people-hey, it gets windy and cold in Oklahoma. There’s plenty of times when having a hood would be a smart idea,” said Cole.

Oklahoma State Sen. Don Barrington has authored a bill to ban hoodies in the state, and to impose a fine of $500 on those who violate the law.

Barrington told the Associated Press that the purpose of the bill is to protect the citizens from criminals who walk around in disguises, but that the bill “had nothing to do with hoodies.”

If the state does pass the bill into law and hoodies are banned, it will be a terrible thing for anyone living in the state during the winter months.

Oklahoma tends to get cold during the winter. Over the year, Oklahoma had a high of 43.9ºF, a low of 11.5ºF, and an average of 27.3ºF.

And it’s easy to see that with these temperatures, a “Hoodie ban law” will leave a lot of people as mad as hell and as cold as Hades.
